We have an opportunity for an Exhibitions Preparator P?kenga Whakaaturanga Taonga to work with our small, passionate team with the development and implementation of our exhibitions and public programmes. Responsible for technical aspects of exhibition planning, the function will ensure all exhibitions are displayed, stored and documented correctly, and provide advice and guidance to colleagues and contractors. Using your excellent relationship management and communication expertise you will also provide customer services support to the wider libraries and galleries facilities when needed. This permanent function is part-time, 24 hours per week, worked Monday to Friday with weekend work for exhibition installs, openings and public programmes as agreed.

We'll provide the support and professional development, you'll provide the expertise. To be prosperous in this function you will have:
   » A significant qualification in Fine Arts, Visual Arts, Art History or Arts Management, and trade expertise including painting and building will be an advantage
   » Practical practice working in art galleries or museums specifically exhibition displays and delivery, with demonstrated safe art handling expertise and practice
   » Excellent project management expertise, demonstrating time management and attention to detail
   » Proficient in the use of exhibition systems, lighting and audiovisual technology
   » knowledge of best practice research techniques
   » Outstanding communication and relationship management expertise - you will enjoy interacting with a variety of people and have the confidence to talk through concerns to find solutions
   » Above all else, a good sense of humour and a great work ethic. All with a big smile!
