About us
Education Infrastructure Service (EIS), a part of the Ministry of Education, manages the Crown’s second largest property portfolio of around 2,100 schools with a book value of $19.6 billion, the largest payroll in the country, and transportation of over 100,000 students to and from school each day.
Our vision for school property is that all schools have quality learning environments as part of a well-managed and sustainable portfolio that helps deliver equitable and excellent results for every child.
About the function
You will be part of a collaborative team responsible for setting the strategic direction and developing policies to support the sound management of school infrastructure across the country. The work is varied but has an focus on supporting ministerial functions and developing strategic investment advice.
About you
You will have a tertiary qualification in public policy, education, resource management, economics, law or significant disciplines or with equivalent practice.
You will also offer the following:
   » Demonstrated skills in public policy analysis and the provision of advice to government
   » An knowledge of New Zealand’s political, economic, cultural and social structures
   » Excellent, oral and written communications, including the capability to present complex issues clearly and concisely
   » A thorough knowledge of New Zealand’s machinery of government and legislative processes
