About our group and team The Evidence Synthesis and Dissemination (ESD) group is within Te Pae Aronui and is responsible for relaying the story of student’s educational achievement and wellbeing across their early learning and schooling and for disseminating information and evidence to our customers. The Information Requests team is the Te Pai Aronui data and information requests service, which includes responses to OIA, PQs and rapid requests covering early learning and schooling. About this function The Manager Information Requests is responsible for ensuring a responsive and customer focused service for information requests for both internal and external customers, across early learning and schooling areas. They are also responsible for continuous improvement in the service and for driving new ways of making information easier to access. The Manager leads a team of analysts as well as some contract resources and is responsible for all aspects of leading and managing the team. About you Critical to the success of this function is your customer focused leadership abilities, vision and drive. You will display sound judgement and highly developed problem solving and analytical expertise with the capability to see innovative solutions to technical problems. You will thrive on driving continuous improvements and working across teams to lead innovative solutions to make information more accessible for users. You will also offer: » a Tertiary qualification in government policy, business management, economics, or related discipline » team leadership abilities and management practice » demonstratable capability to navigate complex situations effectively and efficiently and to function under pressure or in situations which are highly ambiguous » excellent written and oral communication expertise including negotiation and facilitation expertise and practice communicating technical information to a non-technical audience » knowledge and knowledge of significant professional research codes and standards and the ethical issues involved in releasing sensitive information into the public arena » demonstratable capability to understand policy and political context in relation to data and information and to take this into account in the delivery of services » the capability to understand and apply the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tangatawhenuatanga.
