Information technology is presented by Heart of the City in partnership with Auckland Council.Link Alliance is excited to take this opportunity to celebrate local artists and we invite art submissions for the Victoria Street Hoardings, which We are seeking forward to filling up with new artworks. We are seeking for artists or artworks that speak to urban culture and practices - past, present, or future for long term art on the Victoria Street hoardings which would also form a cohesive and engaging group exhibition for the Art in the City festival . The aim is for communities to reconnect with the city centre and its spaces. The artworks could connect back into the immediate whenua, urban space, locals/visitors who frequent the space and support Mana Whenuaand Link Alliance objectives. Link Alliance will print final art into large vinyl to be adhered to the 2.4m high hoarding walls along Victoria Street West (between Albert & Federal Streets) in the city centre and we welcome working with artists on final curation and install. There will be an exhibition celebration during the popular Late-Night Art (5-9pm Thurs 13 Oct) where friends, whanau and general public can gather together over nibbles, drinks and special activations. An indicative artist fee of $700 - 2,000 (+GST) will be provided for each selected artist.
