The New Zealand Maritime Museum Hui Te Ananui a Tangaroa is the place where the stories of people and the sea are preserved, shared and explored with our visitors.
New Zealand is one of the most maritime nations in the world and the story of every one of us is affected by the sea - through immigration, trade, design, innovation and leisure. The Museum is a hub for all these stories; we express them in our galleries, and through our programme of events, special exhibitions, heritage sailings and more.
He angit?tanga: The opportunity
The Marketing and Communications Advisor is the sole marketing position in the Audience and Communications Team and is responsible for developing and executing all marketing and communications activity to drive visitation, increase the Museum's profile, expand our audience engagement and help increase connected visitation revenue.

In this dynamic function you will work closely with the Public Programmes and Collections Teams and the Trade and Tourism Account Manager, to market events, activities, new products and temporary exhibitions by developing and implementing online and traditional marketing campaigns.

As the sole marketing position, We are seeking for a self-directed, strong communicator with excellent relationship building expertise. You will bring 4+ years of digital marketing/communications practice and a bachelor's degree in marketing, communications or equivalent.

You'll have strong organisational expertise, enjoy sharing your ideas, and be comfortable collaborating with our museum staff and stakeholders.

Being creatively driven, your practice in identifying target audiences and devising digital and marketing campaigns that engage, inform and motivate; and your proven track record in managing multiple projects and demands will be paramount to your success.

This is a permanent, full-time position, working 40 hours Monday to Friday where you may be required to undertake occasional work outside of normal office hours to fulfil the New Zealand Maritime Museum's marketing requirements.
