The Position This is a full-time role stationed at the factory in Takanini. It's a hands-on role within a bustling factory environment. They are a compact team, and this role is multifaceted with a wide array of responsibilities. Your responsibilities will span a spectrum of activities, including: » Hands-on fabrication » Supervising our fabrication team - 3 Full-time & 1-2 contractors as needed » Managing material orders » Conducting site visits to validate measurements » Performing Quality Assurance checks » Coordinating yard and logistics activities Reporting to the Factory Manager, your role involves supporting them to ensure: » Fabrication schedules are adhered to, understanding of drawing requirements, and costs are within budget. » Fabrication staff comprehend requirements and deliver timely, high-quality output » Oversight of material movement in and out of the yard, and maintenance of stock items. » Assisting our office team with design, product, and fabrication order queries. » Ensuring strict adherence to health and safety processes and standards on the factory floor. About You » Minimum of 5 years' fabrication experience, ideally with around 2 years of supervisory experience managing a team of a similar size. » Attention to detail and strong organisational skills » Experience interpreting fabrication drawings and a keen eye and ear for health and safety in the factory are crucial. » Previous experience in fencing and gates is advantageous but not obligatory. » Possessing a current welding certificate would be a plus. » A full NZ driver's license and a clean criminal record are prerequisites due to the frequent work in prisons and sites requiring police vetting.
