About our group and team You will be part of the wider Information Technology group. Information Technology provides the Ministry with the support Information technology needs to plan, deliver, use and maintain a range of Information technology Systems. ICT Strategy, Planning, and Architecture (SPA) work with the Ministry and education sector to ensure clear alignment and connection between business strategy, Digital strategy, and digital solution design. We have recently undertaken a review of our current workforce and have identified a number of functions we need to fill to ensure that our strong delivery commitment is continued at its high standard and as a result of this We are seeking for a Senior Solutions Architect to join the team. The prosperous candidate will be involved in signific ant digital initiatives that will have the capability to transform the way the New Zealand Education System is supported and operated; making a material difference for all New Zealanders. About this function We are seeking for a Senior Solutions Architect to join our growing team. You will be responsible for: » providing leadership abilities and mentoring skills, working closely with delivery teams in order to deliver high quality products and services » developing, designing and converting requirements into an effective architecture that meets functional and non-functional requirements and government standards of security, privacy and information management. About you You will bring a range of skills and practice in the following areas: » A working expertise of a broad range of technologies and tools » practice in designing solutions for complex business and technical environments in a senior technical function » A working expertise of SDLC processes » Proven practice working with, and developing, design and requirements documents and artefacts such as Entity Relation diagrams, UML diagrams, User Stories, Use Cases, Swim Lanes etc » Expert expertise of the design of solutions using enterprise patters, system patterns, development patterns, and current enterprise technologies » Broad practice with an all-round approach to architecture, familiar with multiple architecture domains (Business, Information, Application, Infrastructure, Network, Security) » capability to conduct and direct research into ICT issues and products as required » Is dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers » The capability to work collaboratively and flexibly » Openness to diverse perspective and include » The capability to work within large and complex environments and dealing with ambiguity » The capability to understand and apply the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi Are you ready to make a difference?
