   » Full-time, permanent position located in Palmerston North

Now is an exciting time at the Ministry of Education. We are working differently with the sector and communities so that our education system can deliver the best results for children and whanau.
You will also be responsible for providing professional and technical leadership abilities, working directly with senior leaders and boards of trustees to achieve prosperous educational results for all students, with a particular focus on realising the potential of Maori students and Pasifika students. You must be able to influence others with knowledge, expertise and practice in improving student engagement and achievement.
Your key priorities will include the following:
   » Working with individual kura/schools to significantly improve their student achievement and the systems and infrastructure that support this
   » Using detailed analysis of schools/kura performance and student achievement to influence change and maximise education results for students
   » Brokering support for schools/kura where potential is identified – this may include building capcapability and strengthening governance and management, regulatory compliance, curriculum, monitoring and assessment, student and whanau, family and community engagement
To be prosperous in this function you will need to be an exceptional communicator with proven expertise in building and managing strong, effective relationships.
You will also have the following:
   » Strong analytical expertise and the capability to work with student achievement and demographic data
   » An knowledge of the relevance of identity, language and culture for Maori, Pacific people and students with special education needs
   » prosperous practice working with school leaders or Boards of Trustees strengthen school practice and raise student achievement
   » Strengths in influencing and working through others where direct reporting relationships do not exist
   » Strong oral and written communication expertise
   » In-depth knowledge and knowledge of principal leadership abilities and/or curriculum
