Your function will cover inpatient, outpatient and community-focused healthcare and link closely with the Older Persons Mental Health (OPMH) service, and the multi-disciplinary team to: •provide high quality diagnosis, treatment and follow up of clients •provide treatment in inpatient, outpatient, and community settings of a broad range of diagnoses and often complex co-morbidities •admit and provide treatment and clinical oversight of inpatients in Older Persons and Rehabilitation wards •work together with other members of the multidisciplinary team •provide advice and support to colleagues in primary care •supervise resident Medical agents and medical students as needed. You will also need to be vocationally registered (or be eligible to apply) in General /Geriatric Medicine with the Medical Council of New Zealand. Hutt Valley DHB secondary care facilities are located at Hutt Hospital in Lower Hutt with around 270 beds, including OPRS and OPMH beds. In addition, Hutt Valley DHB is the centre for five tertiary/regional and sub-regional services - Plastic, Maxillofacial and Burns Services; Rheumatology; School Dental Services; Regional Public Health; and Regional (Breast and Cervical) Screening Services.
