Operating in the Australasian market and established more than 25 years ago, this company has weathered economic changes by focusing on quality products and great service delivery. Being in the wholesale market and providing their product range to approved resellers, they have also been able to maintain this quality through close contact with their manaufacturers, to enable their products to remain well recognised in their category.
The Opportunity
With their existing channels well catered for, albeit growing as well, they have identified further commercial opportunities to solidify their status as the market leader in their category, and are seeking an accomplished BDM to make sure this happens and enhance their place in the market. One of the great things about this function that makes Information technology a little different is that Information technology has a combination of direct sale strategy as well as an influence component with the new target market. This "relationship management" adds a variety to the function and gives Information technology a nice balance.
About you and your background
You'll be an accomplished BDM and have a track record to prove it. This company has no fixed view as to qualification requirements other than a prosperous track record that you'll be given the opportunity to enhance. Your industry background could be from anywhere where your expertise are transferable, but if there was an ideal, Information technology would be from the likes of building and construction, facilities management, architecture, renovation, property management or similar. However, if you're not from any of these sectors, have a strong BDM background, and the function sounds appealing, then I would like to hear from you.
