Job Offer: Funding for arts projects and community events within Albert Eden:Job description:Job detailsOrganisation Albert Eden Neighbourhood Arts Closes 13 Aug 2021 Posted on 19 Jul 2021 Region Auckland Work type Expressions of interest, Funding Work classification Community & Access Arts, Other ShareDo you have an idea for a great creative project or community event that you'd like to make happen in the Albert-Eden local board area* between September 2021 and June 2022?The Albert-Eden Local Board, through the community arts broker and events programme, provides support for a range of creative projects and community events, and submissions for funding are now open. We are seeking for locally connected individuals and organisations to submit ideas for creative projects or community events that happen in and with local communities. Previous projects have included: outdoor knitting picnics, an enchanted fairy door installation, exhibitions in historic houses, dance workshops in parks, and much more. The arts and community events broker is also available to provide project support in a number of ways, from assistance navigating Council processes through to connecting you with the right space to do your event in - let's talk about what you might need to make the project happen. If you'd like support putting your proposal documents together, or need to submit in another way apart from the online form, get in touch and we can work with you on this. Previous funding amounts have ranged from $500 - $12,000. These programmes are supported and funded by the Albert-Eden Local Board. *The Albert-Eden Local Board area comprises Greenlane, Epsom, Mt. Links & Contact info: Programme website How to submit the application: ARTS PROJECTS This year there are two focus areas open for proposals: » Projects that respond to change Open to all creative ideas that engage with changing neighbourhoods, changing community structures, climate change, changing technology, or the change forced on all of us through the pandemic. What does this mean? This might be, for example, a photography project that documents the changing face of a particular neighbourhood; an installation that demonstrates the local impact of climate change, or a dance work about the continuing closed borders. 2. Projects in local town centres Open to all creative ideas that aim to engage with, activate, and transform local town centre areas across Albert Eden. What does this mean? This might be a project that pairs local businesses with artists; a dance party in a town centre; or an exhibition displayed all over a particular area. To submit a proposal, you'll need to let us know: - what your idea is, who's involved, when you plan to do it, and what the community involvement or results are. - which focus area your application falls under - what the budget is and how much you would like to apply for - any other assistance you think you may need Your project must: - have a strong creative idea driving it - give equal weight to creative ideas and community benefit - have strong local connections - have some sort of public outcome, which can be online Proposals are due by 11.59pm on Friday August 13 and should be completed online at this link: Click here for the application form. COMMUNITY EVENTS The community events fund is for events that are driven by, and are designed for, specific communities of all sorts. Previously funded events have included those that celebrate walking and biking; a health and wellbeing fair; and kai festival. Community events do not need to have a creative aim. Community events must: - be non-commercial in nature - i.e. not run primarily to make a profit for one individual. - have a community focus of some description - happen before the end of June 2022 Community events do not have to have an arts focus, and support is available to assist groups with planning their event if needed.
