About our group and team You will be part of the wider Information Technology group. Information Technology provides the Ministry with the support Information technology needs to plan, deliver, use and maintain a range of Information technology Systems. ICT Strategy, Planning, and Architecture (SPA) work with the Ministry and the Education sector to ensure clear alignment and connection between business strategy, Digital strategy, and digital solution design. We have recently undertaken a review of our current workforce and have identified a number of functions we need to fill to ensure that our delivery commitment is continued at its high standard and as a result of this We are seeking for a Senior Technical Architect- Data to join the team. The prosperous candidate will be involved in signi ficant digital initiatives that will have the capability to transform the way the New Zealand Education System is supported and operated, making a material difference for all New Zealanders. About this function To support the increase of demand and expectations from the business, We are pursuing a passionate Data Architect to join our team. This will be a varied function that will have you facilitate business process improvement, design data integrations and generally help uplift capabilities in Information Management, Data warehousing and Business Intelligence. You will be responsible for the following: » Designing and operationalising data architecture across multiple projects » Using your knowledge of data engineering concepts and data modelling to ensure the Ministry of Education aligns to best practice and delivers high quality results » knowledge what is necessary to develop high quality data products » Contributing to the Ministry’s Data Architecture principles and standards » Providing technical leadership abilities and mentoring for teams in a specific technology domain. » Working with teams to design functional technology solutions. About you You will bring a range of skills and practice in the following areas: » Highly practiced in designing solutions for complex business and technical environments in a senior technical function » Expert knowledge of the design of solutions using enterprise patterns, system patterns, development patterns, and current enterprise technologies » Background in the design and delivery of data solutions » An knowledge of Business Intelligence, Enterprise Data warehousing and data modelling » An knowledge of Data Management practices: Data Quality, Master Data Management, Information Governance, Data Privacy and Security, Metadata Management » Excellent analytical and problem-solving capability » practice in mentoring others or can clearly demonstrate readiness to do so » The capability to work collaboratively and flexibly » Openness to diverse perspective and inputs » The capability to work within large and complex environments and dealing with ambiguity » The capability to understand and apply the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi Are you ready to make a difference?
