While previous dairying practice is an advantage, it's not the be all and end all if you think you've got the potential. We are more than willing to consider training someone up if you can prove you've got the right attitude and enthusiasm to grow with us in this industry. Your tasks would eventually include all aspects of dairy husbandry, including the following; • Milking once daily • capability to identify Mastitis and record data • Stock handling and animal health (lame cows) • Fencing • Weed spraying • Assist in calving • Feeding out • Shifting k-line irrigation/effluent spreader • Basic tractor work • Monthly plant hygiene checks and recording • Maintenance of stock water system • Other tasks directed by Farm Manager Stipulations; employee to have no serious criminal convictions and to be co-operative with regular drug testing Accommodation: Single accommodation available in our on-farm, four bedroom shared staff house. This is unfortunately not appropriate for couples or families. Bedroom and ensuite with shared living and kitchen area. Rent is $80 per week which also covers electricity. No pets allowed. Avg Working Hours per Week: 50 Rostered Time off: Double rotation 8 days on / 2 days off 8 days on / 3 days off income: $21 per Hour Farm Information Farm Name: Low Dairy Farm Size: (Ha) 190 Peak Cows: 720 On-Farm Staff: 4 Located four minutes drive inland from Hinds and 20 minutes from Ashburton. Flat, fully irrigated, 65 ha of K-line and the rest pivot irrigated. We run two herds for the majority of the season. Fully automated 60 bale rotary cow shed with in-shed feeding. We have a run off nearby where we spend most of our time over the winter. Skills:
