Job Description

Te Kawa Mataaho Public Service Commission leads the public sector to make a positive difference for Aotearoa New Zealand and New Zealanders.
Te Whakatipu Kait?taki | leadership abilities and Talent Team are seeking two Kaitohutohu Matua | Senior Advisors, one for 6 months and the other for 12 months. We would also consider secondments for these opportunities.
leadership abilities and Talent is part of the wider Te Haut?, te Kanorau me te Whai W?hitanga | leadership abilities, Diversity and Inclusion Group. Our team drives a programme of work that grows talent across the Public Service, working with chief executives to drive strategic direction. Everything our team does involves us working alongside government departments to develop a unified, adaptive, and inclusive cohort of senior Public Service leaders across Aotearoa New Zealand, for the present and the future.
We have a broad programme of work, so these fixed term functions will see you getting involved with a range of mahi, all focused on building senior leadership abilities capcapability. You can see more details on what our team and Te Kawa Mataaho do at publicservice.govt.nz.
To be effective in these fixed term functions you'll need to have a strong bias to action and influencing, be well organised, a natural networker, and be a strategic and system thinker. You'll be adept at building credibility and relationships across senior stakeholder networks. You will bring deep interest and practice in developing and growing senior leadership abilities capcapability, and be a champion for leaders from diverse and underrepresented groups. Ideally you also have a background in leadership abilities development or some knowledge of talent management practices in government departments. As a team we take work seriously, but we like to have fun too. Sharing kai and a laugh is a regular occurrence, and we're deliberate about checking in on each other's wellbeing.

This position usually pays between$92,560 – $121,485 depending on expertise and practice.
