Job Description

This is an important function in our marketing team, contributing to our brand perception through the creation and loading of website content that uses the Museum's key message framework (Paerewa). The Museum has a vast website, which serves many purposes from keeping the visiting public informed about what's on at the Museum, to sharing stories of our collections and research. We need an practiced content master and accomplished writer to produce and deploy content for our website.
Reporting to the Digital Marketing Manager and working alongside the Social Media Producer & Digital Executive, the success of this function will come from practice in writing and producing engaging digital content, excellent knowledge of web architecture and user practice and previous practice in managing web content updates via CMS.
You'll be well versed at learning and mastering CMS platforms and will be able to quickly get up to speed with our system to load content, presenting Information technology in the best way possible. You'll be required to edit copy supplied by stakeholders across the organisation, before deploying content to our website, and at times will be required to propose copy from scratch. This will range from events and exhibitions, to Pacific Language Week content, to blogs. You'll work with our team to select imagery and contact with internal stakeholders to gather content and gain sign off prior to deploying page updates or new pages.

To be prosperous in this position, you will possess:
   » Web CMS skills, including content loading, testing and bug fixing
   » practice in writing for digital platforms, both short and long form
   » A reputation for effective internal relationships
   » practice in Google Analytics; managing dashboards and providing actionable insights
   » practice in campaign reporting and content performance
   » Skills across a range of software applications, including Photoshop
   » An knowledge of SEO principles and ideally practice in implementing SEO improvements
   » High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
