   » Project manage the design and implementation of NEMA’s enhanced 24/7 Duty System
   » Help provide effective 24/7 community resilience
   » Pivotal function to take NEMA to the ‘next level’ in its response capcapability
The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) provides national leadership abilities to New Zealand’s distributed emergency management system. NEMA’s primary focus is on the performance and capcapability of the emergency management system as a whole, across all hazards and all risks and the 4 Rs of risk reduction, readiness, response and recovery. We are going through an exciting phase of growth and there will be more opportunities with NEMA over the coming months.

As part of NEMA’s current growth We are pursuing to establish a permanently ‘awake’, 24/7 duty response capcapability. This project will enable NEMA to proactively monitor and respond to hazards and risks for which Information technology is responsible, across New Zealand, at any time.
Drawing on lessons from partner agencies and elsewhere you will lead the design and implementation of NEMA’s enhanced duty capcapability. This will ensure effective systems are developed to lift NEMA’s level of service in this critical response function.
You will have:
   » practice with on-call or 24/7 operations
   » significant project management certification or practice
   » Development and maintenance of operational procedures and guidelines
   » Effectively integrate information technology into business results
   » Demonstrable practice working in a high pressure, time-critical response environment
   » An knowledge of hazard risk management
What you will need to succeed:
   » availability to grow M?ori capcapability and cultural confidence
   » capability to adapt in constantly changing circumstances
   » capability to make effective decisions / produce high quality work under pressure and in complex situations
   » Flexible and willing to work non-standard work hours if required
   » capability to influence others (without authority)
   » Effective oral and written communication expertise
   » Initiative, able to manage own workload with minimum supervision
   » capability to proactively build and leverage collaborative stakeholder relationships
