After 36 years as a celebrated national contemporary dance company, Footnote New Zealand Dance is well-known for creating and commissioning bold new work by New Zealand artists. Footnote is seeking a talented General Manager to lead the organisation and be a strong voice for the industry across the wider arts sector. The Company broadly tours performances nationally and internationally, delivers innovative educational programmes, and engages in industry collaborations and sector development projects that reach many thousands of people across Aotearoa every year. Footnote provides a safe space for practitioners to take artistic risks and is proud of its commitment to advance contemporary dance in New Zealand and inspire diverse audiences through this work. Footnote has even bigger plans for the future. The company is working towards a premises move in 2022 after over 35 years on Cuba Street in Wellington. As General Manager you will be leading this exciting move, along with proactively continuing to build a positive and sustainable future for the organisation. To do this, you will be managing a small, passionate team that works closely to achieve Footnote's performance programmes and Strategic Plan. As General Manager, you will be superviseing financial resource management, funding and sponsorship, communications, human resources, risk management, and producing the organisation's touring seasons, as well as working alongside the Artistic Advisory Panel. Maintaining funder applications, relationships and accountabilities is a key part of the function: Footnote is core-funded by Creative New Zealand, with additional support from Wellington City Council, trusts, foundations, individual supporters, and sponsors. We are seeking for Somebody with energy and drive, who is agile and solutions focused, with a supportive and collaborative approach to working relationships.
