The Business Advisor is responsible for supporting the Ropu Pae Ora by leading and delivering centralised business advice across programmes of work, creation of new work processes as well as oversight of workflow coordination. Writing concise business reports to promote the mahi of Ropu Pae Ora is another key requirement of the function, including written responses to OIAs and Ministerial questions.
Management of people is critical to the success of this function, we have two Coordinators who work to support specific teams, leaders, and work programmes across the Ropu. The Coordinators will ensure that programme delivery is seamless and well organised, and that the Business Advisor is kept informed of emerging opportunities and priorities across the Ropu.
The Business Advisor is accountable for ensuring timely and effective delivery of business, financial, operational, and reporting advice to support the Ropu Pae Ora leadership abilities team manage the effectiveness and efficiency of the operational aspects of the Ropu.
Some of the important Mahi you will be involved in:
   » Design and facilitation of Pae Ora objective setting and development sessions, including the development and monitoring of team plans and milestone
   » Coordination and timely delivery of Executive and Board papers, including written responses to OIAs and related Ministerial questions and papers
   » Organisation and facilitation of business management hui for Pae Ora
   » Development of resources to support Pae Ora strategic objectives
   » Oversight of the recruitment process for new Pae Ora functions, including induction activities
   » Build and maintain effective relationships across the Ropu Pae Ora to understand operational business needs and enable effective support across the group
   » Provide line management and day to day oversight of the Coordination team, ensuring they are working collaboratively to support workload demands for the wider team
   » supervise the workflow coordination needs for the Ropu Pae Ora ensuring work is triaged and actioned accordingly
   » Ensure personal adjunct support is delivered to the senior leadership abilities team of the Ropu Pae Ora
   » Prepare and coordinate operational planning, reporting, monitoring, budgeting, and risk management, ensuring budget and spend information is robustly tracked, reported on and provide insights systematically
   » Monitor and report on progress against financial and operational plans, proactively identifying continuous improvement opportunities or areas of risk in a timely manner
What We are seeking for from you to be prosperous in this function:
   » practice with identifying priorities in a high-volume work environment
   » People management and team leader practice
   » Knowledge of business planning, risk management, financial management and business reporting processes
   » Effective contribution to organisational forums, such as Finance and Budget committees
Desirable:
   » An knowledge of tikanga Maori and te reo Maori
   » Knowledge of the application ofteTiritio Waitangi
The function is competitively remunerated with the income range from $82,000 to $115,251 (pending practice) plus a further 9% superannuation for a combined package.
