The Improvement, Systems and Technology team at the Ministry of Social Development is all about enabling people and partners with improved services and effective technologies so New Zealanders can easily access the support they need.

To support the Ministry's purpose and drive effective delivery at this exciting time for the sector, the General Manager Practice and Capcapability Development position within Improvement Systems and Technology has been established. Tasked to lead a strong practice leadership abilities across IST with the purpose of delivering high value results and engagements that will benefit MSD's goals.
The IST leadership abilities team is seeking a strategic leader with a strong background practice in Practice and Capcapability Development, with a proven track record of driving success in a fast paced and dynamic environment. You will work closely with the Group General Manager IST, Delivery Leads and wider stakeholders across the Improvement Systems and Technology network.
To be prosperous in this function, you will bring with you the below practice
   » Strong leadership abilities practice operating in an Agile environment at an enterprise level, leading transformative change across shared services
   » Has led teams in complex and changing environment environments, demonstrating prosperous leadership abilities skills
   » practice working at an executive level in a dynamic environment with the capability to build and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders
   » Confidence in negotiating high level management constructive negotiations whilst having competing priorities at the same time
   » Skilled in change management, navigating and facilitating organisational transformations
   » Demonstrated risk management at a high-level state
   » An open, transparent, and upfront approach, whilst having the capability to balance MSD's requirements and priorities
   » Excellent communication skills, self-management, and interpersonal skills
   » Has previously demonstrated skills in practise leadership abilities, coaching and mentoring

Key requirements of the function

   » Demonstrating collaborative leadership abilities and prompting effective work practices to guide a positive workplace culture
   » Promote change and evolve trusted partnerships
   » Developing the leadership abilities skills of leaders, enhancing their function in the wellbeing and growth of their teams
   » Support Improvement Systems and Technology leadership abilities to make resourcing decisions
   » Collaborate with People group to implement MSD's people policies and frameworks
   » Support the operational model, by implementing effluent perform ace management strategies
   » Identify and coordinate opportunities for operational improvements across IST
   » Maintain risk management where necessary
   » Setting and monitoring goals and budgets and timelines to ensure on-time deliverables are met
   » Work alongside delivery leaders to ensure the technology workforce are equipped to bring high quality skills and capabilities to their assigned teams

income range: $170,001.00 – $253,001.00
