About our group and team The Early Learning and Student Achievement (ELSA) group is a key part of the Ministry, with over 300 staff. Information technology sets system-level learning standards and supports education leaders to lift progress and achievement for all children and young people. The group achieves this by advising on New Zealand’s curriculum, the provision of personalised learning pathways, and a quality and sustainable education workforce. At the heart of our work is making sure that every day, in every early learning service, k?hanga reo, school, and kura, the education workforce and curriculum delivery is world class, and focused on what New Zealanders need for their best future. We have multiple Programme Coordinator vacancies across the Education Workforce team. This team covers the areas of Pay Equity, Claims Implementation, Employment Relations Scholarship and Awards and Teacher Supply. About this function As the Enquiries Coordinator, you play an important function in the management of information and information requests to efficiently allocate, monitor and track high volume and high-profile information requests in the education workforce teams. About you The Enquiries Coordinator supports the team in organising and coordinating a wide variety of Ministerial activities and provides a degree of administrative support. Our ideal candidate will be a forward-thinker who can anticipate needs, juggle multiple priorities and will be willing to support with ad-hoc administrative support across the team as required. You will also be able to: » establish proactive and efficient processes and systems for managing information requests and subsequent workflow across the education workforce teams with a view to reducing workload for Education Workforce managers and their teams » offer advice and guidance on communications and information management practices. Ensure these practices are aligned to Ministry wide standards, policies and processes for information management, Ministerial coordination and related practices » allocate, monitor and track information requests and Ministerials to ensure they are responded to within required timeframes » identify and prioritise urgent or sensitive requests and ensure significant staff are notified » build trust when working with other staff to support results being met » act as a team player focused on delivering the collective goals of the office, demonstrating behaviours consistent with the Ministry values, adding value by working across boundaries supporting and assisting others as the situation requires. » Understand and apply the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tangata whenuatanga.
