The Operations Director is a key regional leadership abilities function with a diverse remit including leading the development and delivery of community probation services, psychological services and rehabilitation and employment opportunities to offenders/prisoners across the region.
We require the right person to drive change, lead and model our diversity focus and build capcapability in the operations space that will be critical to achieving the Department’s results focusing on continuous improvement in the rehabilitation & transitions space.
The position will support the continued drive for an integrated and unified approach to service delivery across the range of services we provide with a specific focus on:
   » Modelling a one department approach to managing offenders, community located sentences and offender rehabilitation and employment opportunities
   » Inspiring and leading a team of specialists and managers with accountcapability for the effective and efficient delivery of services to prisoners/offenders
   » Maintaining and lifting service delivery, quality, performance and practice across the region
   » Monitoring, assessing and reporting on performance and quality
   » Building & fostering external relationships with communities, providers, agencies
   » Ensuring leadership abilities talent and the capcapability of managers in the region is continually assessed and developed with a future focus

To be prosperous in this position you will need to have strong leadership abilities and management practice in an operational environment. You will possess a strong working expertise of community practice and the function of Corrections in the wider justice sector.
You will be required to exercise sound judgement, particularly in relation to assessing risk will need to thrive working under pressure. You will demonstrate the capability to think conceptually and make the big picture connections while remaining attuned to everyday operational issues at ground level.
Key to your success will be proven relationship management expertise as the function requires significant community and stakeholder engagement.
this function provides significant scope and is a driver for the continued success of the Central Region.
