Job Offer: Anaesthetist:South Canterbury DHBJob description:Job listing AnaesthetistEmployer South Canterbury DHBWorkplace South Cantebury DHB Specialty Anaesthesia Term Permanent Grading Specialist / Consultant Hours per week 40 Commencement date Open Application closing date Open Employer South Canterbury DHB Workplace South Cantebury DHB Specialty Anaesthesia Term Permanent Grading Specialist / Consultant Commencement date Open Hours per week 40 Application closing date Open Job descriptionTimaru is often considered to be a well-kept secret by those in the know, (well that is what many of our more recent SMO appointees have told us).It seems our collegially supportive and well run DHB has a tendency to fly under the radar, as we simply get on with the job of providing our patients the best care with the minimum of fuss, and our Anaesthetic team is no exception. Due to a pending retirement, we have options to be able to consider either part or full-time placement. Our team of ten actively service four theatres, an Obstetric Unit (averaging 590 births per year), and a combined Intensive Care Unit/Coronary Care Unit, all with the assistance of Anaesthetic Technicians and skilled Theatre, DPS, and ICU Nursing staff. The department is also responsible for Acute and Persistent Pain Services in conjunction with Clinical Nurse Specialists, so a subspecialist interest in this area or in ICU would be viewed as beneficial, but of course generalist anaesthetic expertise are what is most important to us. We may be small in size, but not unlike NZ generally, we have a tendency to punch above our weight in performance measures, plus we hold a solid reputation across our community who values our services. The sense of community and belonging is reflected in-house as much as Information technology is a part of the local landscape, and what a landscape we have with every sporting and outdoor interest wise almost literally on our doorstep providing genuine ease of access. And yes, generally with a 1:10 on call expectation, plus the option of working either part-time 0.9FTE or full-time, you will have the time off to be able to take full advantage of the lifestyle on offer, which includes access to great schools, affordable housing, a low crime rate, making Timaru the place for young families who crave a family friendly environment with the opportunity to enjoy Information technology together. There is also scope to consider engaging in some Private Practice with the local Bidwill Trust Private Hospital at which a number of our existing team have a professional association with. But don't take our word for it, come and practice for yourself what the rest of our SMO's already have discovered and value ?we think it's a secret worth sharing with the right Anaesthetist. Is that You? We look forward to receiving your application directly via our careers site. If you have any questions regarding this function Contact Us by Human Resources by phoning 03 687-2230. Application are open ended. Please be aware, if you are an overseas candidate that The Medical Council of New Zealand introduced a single method of primary source verification using the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates' Electronic Portfolio of International Credentials (ECFMG's EPIC) service. Being certified through EPIC is now compulsory and we therefore recommend that candidates have registered their professional credentials with EPIC. https://epic.ecfmgepic.org/Registration.aspx Please visit the NZMC website for more details about these changes and the other requirements needed to be met toward gaining NZ Registration. https://www.mcnz.org.nz/get-registered/ Application form Full Job description Email to a friend Skills:
