Dunedin Hospital is a 360 bed teaching hospital with strong links to Otago University Medical School. Our Haematology Service provides a comprehensive tertiary level service to 300,000 people in the Southern DHB district. You will join our busy Oncology and Haematology team consisting of 4 Medical Oncologists, 5 Radiation Oncologists and 5 Haematologists. The hospital provides a comprehensive tertiary Haematology service to 300,000 people in the Otago and Southland regions of New Zealand. There is an integrated laboratory component. We can offer the opportunity to accommodate a specialist interest. Enquiries from general / malignant haematologists as well as coagulation sub-specialists therefore are welcomed. Dunedin is a city known for their southern hospitality and having some of New Zealand's most famous scenery and holiday spots on its doorstep (Queenstown, Wanaka, Milford Sound, Stewart Island to name a few). You can enjoy a diverse range of leisure activities from skiing to trout fishing, surfing, hiking or mountain biking just a stone's throw from your door. Dunedin has an abundance of amenities, educational (primary through tertiary) facilities, arts scene and cultural life. You will need to have completed your specialist training and be eligible for vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand to come and work for us in this locum function.
