The opportunity This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Medical agent with proven leadership abilities expertise and changes management practice to take a leading function with Southern DHB. Working alongside your Executive colleagues and reporting directly to the CEO, you will play a critical function in providing clinical leadership abilities across the whole DHB. At a national and South Island level, you will represent Southern DHB and its interests in clinical matters. Within the Southern Region, you will take the lead on building upon the strong relationships the DHB enjoys with our stakeholders. Amongst your peers, you will already be a respected and trusted leader and in your new function you will work with the Medical Directors to build a strong and effective clinical leadership abilities team that expound on the vision and strategic direction of Southern DHB. As the CMO, you will encourage both hospital and community-located services to engage in developing strategic direction and improve operational performance. You will promote innovation in our planning and provision of services across the health system to ensure a best for the patient, best for system approach. this function will also ensure we actively support the development, professional conduct, and welfare of our medical workforce. About you To be considered for the function you will be a vocationally registered Specialist with a proven capability to provide professional advice and support on clinical and operational expertise and practice. You will have an knowledge of rural and remote communities and be able to articulate the significant issues they face. You will have a background and proven success in developing and implementing strategy and be adept at carrying people along with you on your journey. Please note that although the position is located in Dunedin, this is a district function and will involve traveling around the Southern Region.
