The Kaiwhakahaere - Te Whakap?ka me Te Whakatairaka - Manager, Council Communications and Marketing will contribute significantly in supporting a culture shift across the DCC with the aim of creating an organisation that is inclusive, knowledge and supportive of Te Ao M?ori. Reporting to the Kaiwhakahaere, Pakihi, Tuawhiti - General Manager Corporate and Quality you will be an practiced leader with a track record of effective change management and operational leadership abilities. The prosperous candidate will have a solid background in delivering and leading Communications and Marketing for a large organisation (ideally in a local government or public sector setting), a sound knowledge of how to deliver contemporary communication and marketing to our diverse community, have excellent relationship management and leadership abilities expertise, and the gravitas to represent the organisation externally. An early focus within this function will be to lead the development of a new Communication and Marketing Plan for the organisation. With real depth of practice in communications and marketing, you will have the strategic consciousness to lead in a diverse and complex local government environment.
