At Te T?huhu o te M?tauranga – Ministry of Education, we work to provide services and support nationally, regionally and locally to the education sector, and in some cases, directly to ?konga and wh?nau.
We help shape the policies, settings and performance of the education system for early learning, schooling and tertiary. We do this by building relationships and knowledge the needs of those who receive our services.
We are making significant changes to how we deliver our mahi by doing the following:

   » Giving priority to regional and local voice
   » Delivering greater responsiveness, accessibility and integrated services and support
   » Improving feedback loops and information flows

About our group and team
Te Pae Aronui is the Ministry’s operational and integration group. We work closely with our Ministry, sector and government agency colleagues to ensure early childhood services, schools, kura and communities have the support they need to achieve the best education results for all children and young people.
The Education Network team is responsible for making sure the school network is in the best shape and equipped to offer the best quality of education for every New Zealander. Our national and regional staff keep an eye on where the network needs to move and adapt to meet the growing needs of ?konga/learners and their wh?nau.
About this function
­Due to an internal secondment, we have an opportunity for a Senior Advisor Network to join our team. Reporting to the Manager Network – Auckland and Tai Tokerau, you will be responsible for engaging with the schooling sector to advise and support on new initiatives, enrolment scheme management, and implementation of changes and amendments to the school network.
A large component of this function will be stakeholder engagement and facilitation where you will be expected to engage regularly with principals, boards, iwi and other community stakeholders to communicate impacts on the network.
About you
this function will suit someone who is already operating at a senior advisory level with practice leading and advising on complex pieces of work. You will also be a confident communicator with strong facilitation expertise and the capability to build rapport quickly with a variety of stakeholders.
You will also offer:
   » practice working collaboratively with key stakeholders to provide timely, high-quality advice and support
   » Strong relationship management practice
   » practice implementing practical solutions
   » Excellent communication expertise both written and verbal
   » practice responding to queries and providing a high level of support
   » Well-developed problem solving and analytical expertise, with an capability to work co-operatively with others to deal with problems or complete tasks
   » capability to plan workloads to meet deadlines
   » practice interpreting data and providing insights in a significant way
   » Sound knowledge of the Machinery of Government, public sector delivery structures and systems
   » knowledge of the Treaty of Waitangi and its implications for the work of the Ministry
