Working at the Secretariat supporting the independent Ministerial Review into the Future for Local Government/ Te Arotake i te Anamata m? Ng? Kaunihera, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of M?ori and all New Zealanders. The Secretariat works to support the Review Panel in its kaupapa to identify how our system of local democracy and governance needs to evolve over the next 30 years, to improve the wellbeing of New Zealand communities and the environment, and actively embody the Treaty partnership. The Review will be engaging with a broad range of perspectives across Aotearoa and undertake research and analysis to deliver a report with recommendations to Hon Nanaia Mahuta, Minister for Local Government in April 2023. The terms of reference for the Review arehere As Advisor or Senior Advisor Iwi/ M?ori you will be working as part of the Secretariat team supporting the Review Panel across a broad and transformational programme of work. You will be working closely with the Principal Advisor Iwi/ M?ori supporting the delivery of an engagement programme, and research and policy analysis, bringing Te Ao M?ori perspectives to this mahi. The function is critical in helping to ensure the Review process hears from the diverse perspectives of Iwi and M?ori, with an appreciation for M?ori Crown Relations and Te Tiriti o Waitangi. You will need to bring your strong communication and relationship management expertise to a variety of situations, including hui and w?nanga.
