About the Trust

T?aropaki Trust was born from the unity of 279 M?ori land Owners in 1952. The original owners of the T?aropaki whenua believed that they could achieve more by working together. They amalgamated their family lands under an overarching vision to develop the land to provide opportunities for our wh?nau.

Today, T?aropaki Trust is an Ahu Whenua Trust under the auspices of Te Ture Whenua M?ori. There are more than 2,700 Owners, a mix of individuals, Wh?nau Trusts and Kaitiaki Trusts, all descended from the original Owners. The Trust is a kaitiaki for ancestral taonga and manages complex business interests in the food and energy sectors, with assets valued at around $1 billion.

The Role

As the Stakeholder Relations Manager you will be responsible for leading all internal and external stakeholder relationship engagement.

You will also be responsible for:
   » Lead all key stakeholder interactions including - shareholders, investors, community, Iwi
   » Establish a stakeholder management framework
   » Identify opportunities to drive strategic narratives
   » Supporting Trustees and management to develop the mana of the Trust in cultural and commercial circles
   » Facilitate all aspects of the Annual Report and P?nui
   » Manage events
   » Actively promote the Trust's values and interests
   » Work as an active member of the Culture and Legacy Team, collaboratively identifying ways to continually improve achievement of the team's wider objectives
   » Contribute to a positive and supportive work culture by promoting open communication, teamwork, and mutual respect
   » Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, effectively communicating technical information
   » Share technical expertise and best practices with others to enhance their skills and capabilities
   » Actively promote the Trust's values and interests

What you'll need to be successful
   » Relationship management experience and experience in a M?ori context
   » A high level of competency in te reo M?ori and tikanga M?ori
   » Demonstrated expertise in achieving strategic outcomes from multi channel/modal communication methods including social media, regular media, websites, publications, hui
   » Relevant tertiary qualification
   » A track record of making quality decisions within your area of responsibility
   » A proven ability to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, navigate issues and solve problems
   » Prior experience in an stakeholder or investor relations type role or a robust understanding of strategic communications strategies, principles and tools
   » Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to build and leverage relationships and partner with colleagues and others across the industry to achieve shared outcomes
