About Pay Equity The Ministry Pay Equity team is responsible for investigating and settling pay equity claims raised for staff employed by the Ministry of Education. This is done in conformity with the State Sector Pay Equity Claims Oversight and Governance Framework and the requir ements of the Equal Pay Act 1972. Pay equity means that people are paid equally for doing work of equal value. Information technology acknowledges the value of the skills, responsibilities and demands of workers in female dominated occupations that have suffered from gender-located discrimination because of perceptions and prejudices about the value of “women’s work”. About this function The Senior Analyst within the Ministry Pay Equity team provides skills on the design and implementation of processes, research methods and data collection related to assessing pay equity claims. This process includes identifying, designing, and administering appropriate data collection methods, leading research of employment related documents and designing and conducting interviews with significant Ministry staff and comparator occupations. The function is also responsible for developing templates, guidance material and project documentation; collating and analysing data gathered during the process; and presenting in a form to support decision making. About you To be prosperous in the function, you’ll be working collaboratively with key internal and external stakeholders, developing relationships at all levels and across internal and external stakeholder groups. You’ll be communicating your ideas through high quality written and verbal advice. We’ll also count on you to shape, frame and design our process and thinking using a diverse and inclusive approach. You will also offer: » strong customer service and interpersonal skills, with a proven capability to establish and maintain positive relationships » practice using Microsoft Office packages (e.g. Word, Excel, Project, Visio etc) » sound quantitative and qualitative analysis skills, including proven written and data management capability » a proven capability to work flexibly, across different work environments including remote working. » the capability to understand and apply the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tangata whenuatanga.
