Are you an practiced design practitioner keen to leverage your expertise and create positive change for New Zealanders?
We’re looking for a Senior Designer to join our newly created team dedicated to bridging the gap between insights and delivery. This is an exciting opportunity to use your design, research and problem-solving expertise to make a difference to the lives of New Zealanders.
We’ve got a supportive team and we rally together to tackle interesting and significant challenges. And have a lot of fun doing it!
What you’ll be doing
As Senior Designer you’ll be participating and leading user research, insight definition, ideation and experimentation activities. Our Senior Designers work on a range of opportunities that support transformative service change for our customers. This could be for businesses, treatment providers, injured people or looking at potential interventions to stop injury.
You will be responsible for an element of senior stakeholder engagement as your share the opportunities you discover and provide design advice and guidance.
You’ll be contributing beyond just research and ideation – our team translates the opportunities into tangible actions and builds partnerships with ACC leaders, enabling them to turn customer insights into action to deliver improved customer practices.
You’ll also be helping build capcapability in design practice across the organisation by helping others ‘lgain by doing’ through our design initiatives.
Who We are seeking for will demonstrate the following:
   » You’ll have demonstrated practice in unpacking complex problems through human centred design methods and have a range of tools in your toolkit to utilise
   » Led design activities, implemented frameworks and have proven examples of ideas and solutions for delivery
   » Be a confident communicator who can clearly articulate ideas and guide others through the design process
   » Able to create a positive team environment, with those who may have a range of backgrounds, practice and agendas and influence from within this
   » Be willing to roll your sleeves up to tackle challenges big and small and bring a curiosity to the work
   » Have practice coaching or mentoring others in design practice
   » Be well organised, action oriented and a positive culture creator
   » capability to balance creativity with operational reality
   » Have a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its application to your function
   » And you have an inclusive, safe and collaborative leadership abilities style which creates space for diverse perspectives.
Who will you be working with?
Reporting to the Design Resourcing and Practice Manager you’ll be part of a team of passionate human centred designers and behaviour change practitioners. You’ll be working with stakeholders and SMEs from across ACC and our customers to understand and unpack opportunities through design activities.
