About our group and team We are pursuing a Senior Advisor to join our Governance team. The team leads the provision of good governance advice and support, ensuring senior leaders and boards receive insights and strategic advice that enables the Ministry to shape an education system that delivers equitable and excellent results. The team is part of Corporate Strategy and Performance (CSP), which is a single, centrally led planning, reporting and governance function, focused on providing end-to-end processes with a strong strategy and business improvement focus. About this function We are pursuing a Senior Advisor who can provide technical skills to help build organisation-wide governance capcapability and drive continuous improvement. This includes the following: » Ensuring Governance Board Chairs and their deputies receive quality advice that enables effective decision making and board operation, and leading a quality assurance process across papers, forward agendas and other governance products » Contributing to the review and reset of the governance system at the enterprise level. About you You will have practice with public sector governance and accountcapability processes and a tertiary qualification in a significant field or equivalent practice. We are seeking for a professional with good relationship skills and the capability to work collaboratively with senior leaders and their teams across the Ministry. You need the capability to apply the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tangatawhenuatanga to governance knowledges, strong writing skills, and a proven capability to deliver as part of a team.
