The function is located in our Christchurch Gallery, however, travel between Christchurch and Arrowtown will be required on a semi-regular basis for exhibitions and training purposes. As a Gallery Associate, you will be responsible for the efficient delivery of all gallery operations including a regular programme of exhibitions, and the day-to-day management of the Christchurch gallery. You will be required to demonstrate high levels of professionalism, confidentiality, integrity, honesty and resilience.This is a great opportunity to form relationships with both senior artists and collectors, alike, as well as for professional development. We ask that you have proven administrative gallery practice, superb written and verbal communication, practice managing projects or events to a budget and deadline, strong organisational expertise, confident Information technology expertise for the management of the gallery database, and most importantly; genuinely passionate about the visual arts & culture. We will offer you a thorough induction and training in a range of Adobe programmes, professional handling of artworks and gallery procedures. This position comes with a generous hourly rate, and is located in the arts precinct of Christchurch. The hours of work are from Tuesday to Friday 9am to 5pm and Saturday 10am to 5pm.
