About our group and team The Special Projects team is currently implementing two high profile projects for the Ministry of suitable education Ka Ora, Ka Ako – healthy school lunches programme and the Ikura Products in Schools initiative. This work is already proving to have a significant impact for our ?konga. We’ve taken a regionally-led, nationally supported approach to implementing Ka Ora, Ka Ako, to emphasise community relationships, work flexibly and be able to offer local solutions. The team consists of around 25 regionally located staff who manage relationships with schools, kura and suppliers, with a support team of people that include Nutritionists, Programme Coordinators, Senior Advisors and other support functions. About this function It’s an exciting time to join the Special Projects team as we support the business to move through the implementation stage with a focus on continuous improvement We are a collaborative team, focused on improving wellbeing by reducing food insecurity by providing access to nutritious lunches in schools and kura and providing access to period products. The function leads the team responsible for supporting the delivery and continuing management of the Ka Ora, Ka Ako – Healthy School Lunches and the Ikura Products in Schools initiative. The Programme Delivery Manager will provide direction, support and guidance to the team and contribute to the overall leadership abilities of the programmes of work and the Special Projects team. About you To be prosperous in this function you will have strong leadership abilities expertise to contribute to the continuing success of the work of the Special Projects team and be able to provide invaluable direction and support to your team. Your programme management expertise will play a key function in prosperously navigating the continuing demands of the programme, in particular implementing the strategic direction and maintaining the integrity of the initiatives. You will be able to establish strong mechanisms to ensure there are robust project structures and fit for purpose processes across the programmes of work. You will also be: » flexible, able to quickly adapt to changing priorities and manage ambiguity » able to closely collaborate with colleagues to achieve a mutual goal » detail focused and able to accurately follow Ministry processes » the capability to understand and apply the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tangatawhenuatanga.
