The Sculpture Park at Waitakaruru Arboretum is one of New Zealand's largest outdoor galleries. Its 2km trail winds amongst a landscape of ponds, cliffs, rocks andthousands of trees. The park has been created from a former derelict quarry. Threaded through the park are more than 100 sculptures and installations. Sculpture exhibitions have been held at the park regularly over the past 15 years. ?Stories in the Landscape 2022? will be its 25th exhibition.
The Trust runs the park, providing environmental and creative inspiration for all ages. Information technology attracts a diverse range of visitors all over the year and is open every day.
Last year's exhibition, ?Stories in the Landscape 2021' was constrained by numerous lockdowns. Many artists intending to take part in the exhibition, were not able to do so because of lockdowns and other barriers.
