Job Description

This a very unique function which primarily works with and alongside Iwi M?ori Partnership Boards (IMPBs) across the motu, the GM Iwi M?ori Relations will supervise the standing of IMPBs through to listing legislation. You will provide support arrangements for IMPBs to ensure they have back-office support in administration, writing, finance and data analysis.
You will have a special skill in writing for Government & knowledge the machinery of government (OIA, PQs, OPQs, Briefings etc)
You must be able to produce such briefings and maintain a national overview of each IMPB at any time.
You will build robust relationships with all IMPBs, be able to move among Iwi and hapu across the motu and must be able to maintain relationships with the IMPBs, you should also be aware of what is happening with each IMPBs, manage the funding relationships with IMPBs.
this function will require you to develop and maintain regional IMPB representation to work with Regional Directors of Te Aka Whai Ora and Te Whatu Ora. You will support IMPBs to identify and implement a process for appointments to the Hauora M?ori Advisory Committee.
As the GM Iwi M?ori Relationships, you will represent any Iwi M?ori relationship activities, establishing a positive reputation as the credible and well-regarded sector expert within Te Aka Whai Ora, leading the prosperous national engagement internally and externally with the Iwi M?ori sector including specifically Iwi M?ori Partnership Boards and M?ori providers through Te Aka Whai Ora regional offices.

You will have:
   » Strong communication and relationship management skills, with established networks across both iwi and M?ori health sector.
   » skills in Wh?nau and community participation & engagement
   » broad knowledge of the New Zealand health reforms agenda is required.
   » A significant tertiary or post graduate qualification and significant significant work practice
   » knowledge of machinery of government processes
   » practice leading a national team of technical experts to influence positive transformation and change (cultural, attitudinal, policy, services)
   » Fluency (or commitment to fluency) in Te Reo M?ori is desired alongside of an knowledge of the application of m?tauranga M?ori in the workplace
   » knowledge of Te Tiriti principles and frameworks, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings
   » Adaptable to changing environments and competing demands
   » capability to deal with problems through to resolution
