About the Role:
Adecco is recruiting an experienced Payroll Officer for a permanent part-time position. Payroll Officer for a permanent part-time position.
In this sole-charge role, you will oversee payroll application and processing activities, serving as the key contact for all payroll-related queries. You will manage multiple payroll groups with varying processing schedules (weekly, fortnightly, and monthly) and support annual audit activities at the end of the financial year. Your expertise will help develop payroll processes and guidelines, providing technical advice on payroll processing, calculations, and compliance with holidays legislation.
Reporting to the People & Culture Manager, you will be part of the wider Operations Team, ensuring efficient systems and processes across the organisation to support team commitments.
Key Responsibilities:
   » Serve as the primary contact for payroll matters, handling queries with sensitivity and responsiveness.
   » Set up new members in the payroll system and update existing member details as provided.
   » Offboard members in the payroll system and process termination pay as necessary.
   » Ensure all payroll instructions have correct authorisation and supporting documentation.
   » Review all adjustments and changes to the pay run for accuracy before processing.
   » Prepare accurate pay calculations and draft pay run reports.
   » Develop and implement best-practice payroll procedures and maintain payroll guidelines.
   » Support annual audit activities for the payroll function.
What You Will Bring:
   » NZPPA Certification (at least Level 2) or 8+ years of experience as a payroll practitioner.
   » Extensive experience working in payroll for large organisations and/or with payroll systems.
   » High accuracy and attention to detail.
   » Strong data-entry skills and strategies to ensure no errors.
   » Excellent knowledge of payroll legislation
   » High tech-literacy and digital skills.
   » Previous experience using the Datacom payroll system is preferred.

This is a permanent, part-time (22.5 hours per week) position .
Applicants must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand.
Flexibility of workdays and location can be discussed during the interview stage.
Our payroll processing typically occurs on Tuesdays.
