The Artworks and Collection Management Team cares for this collection and ensures its longevity through effective record keeping, conservation, and collection management. We also provide public access through tours, displays, and exhibitions. this function will play a key function in developing our collection management processes and ensuring the collection is well cared for, as well as supporting the Curator to ensure our exhibitions and displays employ best practice.The function This is a varied function with plenty of scope to be involved in projects as well as day-to day tasks. Some of your responsibilities will include the following: » Reviewing and developing collection care policies, procedures, and guidelines - providing advice and carrying out work to ensure best-practice » Developing and carrying out a regular cleaning and maintenance schedule for collection items on display and in storage » Undertaking documentation and record keeping (loans, copyright) in relation to the Collection » Assisting with copyright enquiries and digitisationof the Collection » Assisting with the facilitation of display changes and exhibitions » Responding to enquiries from staff and public As part of a small team you will need to be flexible, have good time management expertise, and be willing to be involved in diverse projects and initiatives. You will be at ease communicating with a range of audiences and have the capability to handle multiple projects and tasks. You will have excellent administrative and planning expertise, an knowledge of copyright, and advanced Vernon Systems expertise. practice with photographing Collection objects an advantage. this function is suited to Somebody with an interest and broad knowledge of art and/or history with at least two years' practice in a museum or gallery setting. The ideal candidate will have an knowledge of standard museum practices in relation to collection management and a post graduate qualification in the arts, conservation or curatorial expertise (eg Museum Studies/Practice).
