About our group and team
The Special Projects team is currently implementing two high profile projects for the Ministry of suitable education Ka Ora, Ka Ako – healthy school lunches programme and the access to free period products in schools’ initiative.
The team consists of around 25 regionally located staff who act as a point of contact for schools and kura, with a support team of 13 people that include programme coordinators, senior advisors, a business analyst, communications support and our own nutritionists. We’ve taken a regionally-led, nationally supported approach to implementing Ka Ora, Ka Ako, to emphasise community relationships, work flexibly and be able to offer local solutions.
About this function
The Programme Coordinator will work with the Project/Programme Manager to provide efficient and effective administration, planning, co-ordination, and support to the team.
The function will have a strong focus on the financial administration of the programme through the management of the invoicing processes and ensuring the timely payment using the Ministry’s Oracle Finance tool.
About you
To be prosperous in this function you will have strong administrative expertise to contribute to the continuing success of the Programme and be able to provide invaluable administration support to project team members.
Your organisational abilities will play a key function in prosperously navigating the continuing demands of the programme, in particular the financial dependencies including timely payment to suppliers.
You will have strong relationship management expertise and will work closely with our suppliers and wider team.
You will be able to establish efficient reporting mechanisms to develop and maintain accurate records to track the progress of the programme.
You will also be:
   » flexible and able to quickly adapt to changing priorities
   » able to closely collaborate with colleagues to achieve a mutual goal
   » detail focused and able to accurately follow Ministry processes
   » the capability to understand and apply the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tangata whenuatanga.
