We have an opportunity for an practiced professional to join our specialist team regulating High Hazard industries as we create two new functions focusing specifically on the investigation of High Hazard incidents.

As a High Hazards Specialist Investigator, you will bring practice of undertaking complex incident investigations within a regulatory function, or you may come from a senior technical, engineering, operations, or health and safety position within a significant high hazard industry. You will have the opportunity to influence health and safety in the High Hazards sector. You will investigate and identify the root causes of identified precursor events and undertake a range of compliance and enforcement-related activities to ensure organisations are effectively managing the health and safety of their workplaces.
Our ideal person will have:
   » demonstrated practice undertaking complex incident investigation and analysis
   » significant practice in a senior technical or management position within a high hazard industry
   » the capability to remain calm and level-headed under pressure or when responding to emergency situations
   » excellent communication expertise, both written and oral, with the capability to communicate information, concepts and arguments effectively
   » good expertise of the applicable health and safety requirements, standards, and legislation
   » demonstrates commitment and consistency in working for an organisation
   » team expertise to engage and interact with colleagues, share information and ideas
   » a current driver's license is essential
   » capability to travel nationally (by air) for work at short notice if required
   » availability to undertake training for certificate of appointment
   » appropriate physical fitness to be able to walk around large industrial sites, climb up large fuel tanks
