Eager to work with tamariki in kura? Understand the foundation and importance of tikanga? Have an knowledge when working from a whanau/hapu/iwi framework? Registered or eligible for registration with the SWRB? Then we would love to hear from you!!! Family Works Northern provides strength-located practice child and family services, programmes and community development initiatives in 11 community located centres and numerous schools in the Upper North Island. Our Tauranga site has a full time opportunity for a prosperous Social Worker to work within five Tauranga Moana kura. This exciting function will see you working predominantly with Maori whanau focusing on providing early intervention and preventative social work services to children and their families using a strengths-located, multi-systemic approach. This person will need to be organised, self-motivated and able to build and maintain relationships. To be prosperous in this function, you will be: » A qualified and practiced Social Worker » Able to work across many cultures » Committed to working with Tangata Whenua » Have a knowledge of tikanga Maori » practiced in working alongside children and their families » Familiar with the Primary School environment » Interested in developing group work expertise and facilitating a range of needs located preventative programs » A “can do” person, with outstanding communication and people expertise » Registered or eligible for registration with the SWRB » Good computer expertise, a reliable car, and a current full driver’s licence If this sounds like you, and you want to work for a prosperous organisation, committed to making a difference in the lives of children and their families, then we would like to hear from you.
