With ACC, you’ll be supporting people in Aotearoa to stay safe by minimising the incidence and impact of injury, as well as helping them recover from injury if an accident does happen. As the Operational Policy Manager, you will lead a team of Operational Policy advisors to develop and support our decision-making practices to help people recover faster and improve the lives of those with long term needs. The Team Manager is responsible for developing and leading the team’s work programme to support strategic priorities in the operationalisation of policy through high quality analysis, advice, and support products.
We are seeking for a confident communicator, who will bring energy and enthusiasm to the function. Your positive and pragmatic approach to leadership abilities will support the continuous improvement and development of the team and its relationships across the business. From time to time you will be called upon to offer support to high profile or complex cases and this is where your strategic problem-solving expertise will be put to good use.
The function requires you to be able to lead your team and contribute to the broader success of the function through the Technical Services leadership abilities team. You will need the capability and confidence to lead and deliver on key projects, navigate complex cases and support our teams in collaborating with other key services including Client Recovery, Clinical Services and Resolution Services, so excellent interpersonal expertise are a must.
To be prosperous you will need to bring:
   » Solid practice leading an operational policy or policy specialist function, preferably in a large complex environment.
   » Confident in translating strategic policy positions into clear advice and products that are useful to front line operational staff.
   » A passion for coaching for performance and development.
   » Proven capability to generate a continuous improvement culture.
   » capability to vary working and leadership abilities style.
   » Strong business judgment and decision-making capabilities.
   » Collaborative working style and the capability to lead with integrity and authenticity.
   » Proven people leadership abilities who drives a culture of performance and responsibility.
   » You are a great relationship manager and communicator.
   » Are a critical thinker with the capability to quickly grasp topics and concepts.
