Principal Advisor Privacy and Ethics
ACC are focused on being a leader of privacy practice in New Zealand; it’s important to our customers and to us. Our Privacy team works hard to support ACC’s strategic intention to improve the way we protect personal information and to continuously grow and maintain a proactive privacy culture. We look for opportunities to improve systems and processes to manage risk and work to ensure privacy is designed and embedded into business processes, projects, Information technology systems, and applications.

We are pursuing a Principal Advisor Privacy and Ethics to provide strategic thought leadership abilities and expert advice on privacy matters across our business. This newly created function joins a dynamic and highly engaged team and will be our subject matter expert on everything privacy and a key part of our Privacy leadership abilities team.
You’ll be working with our new Head of Privacy to ensure the effective delivery of privacy support, with a focus on high-risk areas. You’ll provide expert advice and technical support for the team and across the organisation to support mitigations, risk assurance, decision-making and special projects. You’ll develop specialist knowledge resources and act as a senior point of escalation for privacy matters.
There is plenty of interesting work to keep you busy, and you’ll certainly get the opportunity to showcase your capability to provide strategic privacy advice and systems thinking to business leaders.
Ko wai koe – About you
this function would best suit Somebody with significant post qualification privacy knowledge and skills. CIPP, CIPM or CIPT certification is preferred.
You’ll also be able to demonstrate the following:
   » capability in the gathering, analysis, and presentation of information on issues connected with privacy and customer data protection
   » practice briefing (in writing and in person) at Ministerial/Chief Executive/senior management level
   » Excellent written and oral communication skills, including proven report and business writing practice
   » Excellent interpersonal, relationship building, influencing, networking and conflict resolution skills
   » capability to understand the legislative and regulatory environment governing ACC’s activities,with a focus on privacy
   » An consciousness of issues related to people with disabilities and practice working in an environment requiring cultural and social consciousness
   » An knowledge of Te Tiriti and the knowhow to consider how Information technology applies to your work

The base income range for this function is $114,022 to $160,972 with appointment depending on skills and practice. ACC also offers 9% superannuation.
Location - flexible but ideally Wellington
income range – $114k-$160k
