Ako Aotearoa is New Zealand’s National Centre for Tertiary Teaching Excellence. Our mission is to work together with tertiary education providers and agencies to enhance the effectiveness of tertiary teaching and learning to support learner success. Established in 2007 by a consortium of tertiary organisations, Ako Aotearoa is funded through contracts with the Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) and is hosted by Massey University. We are pursuing a suitably qualified and practiced person for the function of Sector Services Manager, Central Region. The Sector Services Manager is responsible for the effective delivery and promotion of our services for the tertiary sector and key sector stakeholders in the central region of Ako Aotearoa. The Sector Services Manager will promote and market our services, achieve stakeholder engagement and earnings goals and manage key stakeholder relationships and networks. The Sector Services Manager manages contractors, as needed, to support the provision of services in the central region. The scope of the function includes all aspects of the planning, support, delivery, reporting and evaluation of Ako Aotearoa’s programmes, including Professional Learning and Development, sector forums and events. The Sector Services Manager also works to ensure the synergies and priorities of the Central region and the rest of Ako Aotearoa are exploited and developed. Reporting to the National Business Manager, you will have proven expertise and practice in: » the tertiary education and training sector in Aotearoa New Zealand » developing and implementing service delivery plans » developing and facilitating regional and national networks » leading key stakeholder relationships within the tertiary and training education sector » planning and organising professional learning and development workshops » quality assurance and impact evaluation » business planning, implementation and report preparation expertise of, and practice in, the professional development of educators is preferred. You will have a natural empathy with the aims of Ako Aotearoa and improving akonga/learner results through quality teaching, education and training, and a high level of flexibility such that you are able to move easily from the everyday routines to manage competing priorities.
