We're looking for someone to support the Kaitiaki Toi in the Toi Matarau GalleryMa?oriland is a rapidly growing Ma?ori led independent entity with a kaupapa to bring cultural, social and economic benefits to its community of artists, filmmakers, creatives and audiences in O?taki. The Ma?oriland Hub is awhare tapere- a home for the Indigenous, a home for the arts, a house of inspiration and storytelling where economic, social and cultural wellbeing is supported. Ma?oriland provides platforms and opportunities for Ma?ori and Indigenous artists across visual, traditional and contemporary, performing arts, film and digital mediums. Within M?oriland Hub, the Toi Matarau M?ori art gallery celebrates the creativity of artists from all over Aotearoa - from tamariki to some of our most venerated artists. About The functionThe Kaiha?pai Whakahaere Toi will support the Kaitiaki Toi in the Toi Matarau Gallery in ?taki. You will be someone who can interface with our community including kura Ma?ori and mainstream schools, as well as our community to encourage participation in the arts through workshops and other activities including attending exhibitions. You will extend manaakitanga to all who visit Toi Matarau and the Ma?oriland Hub from their front of house desk at entry of the whare. this function requires someone who is an excellent communicator,has attention to detail,is an effective time management, self-managing, and is aflexible team member. Desired expertise and practice include customer service/retail, photography, toi M?ori/business management administration, stocktaking/inventory control, digital management tools (VEND,Xero, Excel, Word, Doc, etc.), report writing.
