This position offers a salary of $55 Per Hour with a 3-month contract and potential for career growth within the world's largest provider of IT infrastructure services. As a key player in the IT & Infrastructure industry, our client serves thousands of enterprise customers across more than 60 countries. In this strategic role, you will be responsible for Network Security Administration, Change & Problem Management, and driving critical Projects. This is an excellent opportunity for you to lead and shape the direction of the organization's network security initiatives. Detailed Job Description: As a Network Security Specialist, your responsibilities will span across the following deliverables: Deliverable: Network Security Administration » Manage and maintain switches that include upgrades, Vlan implementation/changes, and validation. » Install software, apply patches, manage file systems, and monitor performance of network switches. » Troubleshoot network issues and conduct in-depth analysis, collaborating with network and architect teams to identify root causes. » Perform compliance tasks in alignment with customer and company policy standards. » Provide support for Netscout and Cisco ISE, including software installation/upgrade, policy updates, configuration, and monitoring. » Manage monitoring activity/alerts and work with network and architect teams to deliver root cause analysis and solutions. Deliverable: Change & Problem Management » Ensure minimal or negligible impact on production systems during Change Activities. » Adhere to prevailing operational standards and procedures. » Conduct problem analysis and diagnosis, resolving open problems promptly. Deliverable: Projects » Strict adherence to clients' project management guidelines and requirements. » Provide effective, regular, and reliable reporting to project managers and other stakeholders. » Regularly report progress to Team Leader/Manager, proactively identifying and managing risks that could impact team operations. Candidate's Profile: To succeed in this Network Security Specialist role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills: » Juniper certifications: JNCIA-Junos or higher; Cisco Certifications: CCNA-switching or higher. » A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a relevant technology field or an IT Diploma is highly desirable but not essential. » At least 5 years of experience in Enterprise network administration in a Data Centre setting. » Expertise in Cisco and Juniper networking and security. » Comfortable working within complex commercial network and security environments. » Familiarity with CISCO certifications will be beneficial. » Experience in working within geographically dispersed teams. » Technical proficiency in Cisco, Juniper, Symantec AV, Symantec Messaging Gateway, QRadar, and Shell Scripting. »You must be a NZ Citizen or NZ Resident as you will be working on infrastructure servicing NZ government entities. » Availability for after hours on-call is a requirement for this role. There will also be scheduled work after-hours or on weekends, on occasion, to maintain our clients' infrastructure. » You must cope with a high volume of stress in a way that is non-destructive to yourself and the people around you.
