The New Zealand Comedy Trust was established in 1995 to manage the NZ International Comedy Festival and foster the growth of comedy as a performing art and professional career in New Zealand.
A celebration of comedy, the annual NZ International Comedy Festival has grown into one of the most loved events of its type in the world. A major event on the nationwide calendar, Information technology is held simultaneously over three weeks across Auckland and Wellington during May, with a total attendance of up to 90,000 each year.
The Production Manager is responsible for working with the Operations Manager to deliver the 2023 NZ Intl. Comedy Festival and related NZ Comedy Trust events. You will work directly with comedians, producers/promoters, venues and technicians to deliver a great Festival practice for audiences and artists.
Responsibilities include:
   » Support the Operations Manager in coordinating the venue, production and event requirements for the Festival & NZ Comedy Trust initiatives.
   » contact directly with artists, producers, suppliers and venues to ensure their production needs are met and accounted for, including scheduling and gear bookings.
   » Ensure Festival operations are delivered to or under budget.
   » Provide input and support to the Creative Producer to deliver representative, dynamic and evolving Festival content, particularly around applications and registrations.
   » Work closely with the Ticketing Coordinator to ensure all Box Office earnings is accurately balanced, all production and other expenditure is accounted for and show settlements are accurately completed on time.
   » General office and Festival administration tasks
   » Ensuring all artists, producers and venues are fully informed and comply with current Workplace Health & Safety standards and requirements.
Ideally you will already have practice as a Producer/Event Manager, a strong knowledge of live performance technical requirements, an eye for detail, excellent Excel expertise, and great communication and relationship expertise. This is an exciting opportunity for an practiced Production Manager to join a small team in making a vital contribution to the comedy industry in Aotearoa.

This is a fixed term position running from September 2022 to July 2023, but there is a possibility of extending this term, or looking at a permanent position.
