This job is not like most credit control desks whereby you email clients and wait for an answer. You will be picking up the phone and building on the relationship with your great communication skills to get answers. You will know how to ask the right questions and follow through for the outcome. You would be working with large accounts and some are complex, so efficiency and your engaging personality is what is required. You should have a calm manner, know how to work with 30/60/90 day ledgers, have accounts receivable experience, and most of all you should have common sense. You may come from a customer service background, call centre, or have managed a team previously. These skills will assist you within this job. There will be training given and you should come prepared with a positive attitude, along with a passion to get things done. You should also have excellent Excel skills - know how to use pivot tables and V-lookups.
