About our group and team
SE&S – Sector Enablement and Support
Our teams around the country work closely with the Early Childhood and Schooling sectors, providers, and communities to provide support, skills and resources to help children and young people reach their full potential.
We also directly provide Learning Support for around 40,000 children and young people.
The Business Systems team provides first and second level systems support to internal Ministry staff. We connect with business teams to deliver products aligned with practice.
About this function
The Adviser Business Systems provides the first line of support to Ministry system users on a day to day basis, responding to system use queries, data fixes and reporting nee ds. There is a need to ensure data quality is maintained through the regular interrogation of the databases, identifying data issues that need resolving, seeing these through to completion and providing training and coaching to users. The function is also involved in system changes – including identifying need, testing and involvement right through to the final release.
About you
You will have a passion for customer service, enjoy process orientated tasks, have well developed written and verbal communication skills. We’re looking for someone who is committed to seeing tasks through and has strong process improvement skills.
You will also offer the following:
   » Strong written communication skills, including the capability to write succinctly and concisely
   » Demonstrated capability to produce consistently high-quality work, and to plan to meet deadlines, prioritising work as necessary
   » Effective oral communicator – confident, clear, concise
   » capability to elicit, analyse, evaluate, and assess information
   » capability to build and maintain strong relationships across a diverse group of contacts
   » Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel and databases
   » The capability to understand and apply the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tangatawhenuatanga.
