Because my condition is sill being assessed, the length of this position is unknown, but initially ASAP until the end of January. The job involves being in charge of family cooking and cleaning and laundry, but will focus on supervising my Home-schooled 9 year old while I rest and driving him to his various activities. We are on 8 acres, so his activities will include feeding goats and chickens etc. You will not be required to do heavy/messy farm work, but the option will be there to lgain Information technology some of these expertise if you are keen. Before this loss of health, I was establishing a garden-to-plate food business and there is the opportunity for the right person to be involved with this in the future. A clean full drivers licence is essential. An capability to help my son make videos would be a bonus, as would practice with Aspergers. This is an au-pair type live-in position where full board will be deducted from salary. There is some flexibility in hours and tasks, and I am happy to consider taking a couple or pair of friends, as I found that boarders / Wwoofers have always been happiest when they had company while I kept family routine happening in the evening. E.g. there could also be board in return for garden establishment work for a second person. There is also extra summer work in the area, esp on week-ends at the beach. Due to this being a chldcare position first and foremost, candidates will be police checked. Strictly no smoking on the property at all, and no drinking in the house/yard if my son is present or storing alcohol in the kitchen fridge (we have a farm fridge as well). We are vegetarian, but we do welcome meat-eaters as well. No white meat in the home kitchen as I have severe seafood and mild chicken allergies. I will set up a separate BBQ area away from the house for cooking any meat and QUIET drinking. We are devote practicing Christians, and pray before each meal etc. so you will need to be comfortable with this. More important though, is your capability to be comfortable in country living with limited rain water, septic tanks and muddy shoes at times.
