About NEMA The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) provides national leadership abilities to New Zealand’s distributed emergency management system. NEMA’s primary focus is on the performance and capcapability of the emergency management system as a whole, across all hazards and all risks and the 4 Rs of risk reduction, readiness, response and recovery. About the function Due to rapid growth at NEMA, we have a fixed term position for an Advisor or Senior Advisor Recruitment and Induction, to make a difference to how we bring people into the organisation. Not only will the function support managers with end to end recruitment, but Information technology will assist with the onboarding and induction of new staff. The way this is done, and the practice people have in applying and joining our organisation, is something this function will redefine. While practice in recruitment, induction or human resources is valuable, Information technology is more important to us that the person in this function is able to work under pressure, while being innovative and customer focused. Strong and proactive organisational expertise are critical, with the person able to support both the internal customers and positive candidate practices. To be prosperous in this function you will bring: » A high level of organisational and problem solving expertise, including the capability to plan and prioritise tasks to meet deadlines, maintain confidentiality and exercise judgement and discretion. » expertise in maintaining effective, collaborative relationships with a focus on the customer practice. » Flexibility and adaptcapability to changing needs. » The capability to juggle competing demands when multiple assignments are underway at once. A Senior Advisor would also bring practice in recruitment and / or induction and in developing / enhancing those processes. What will you get out of it?
